DAYDREAM is a large-scale sculptural installation that invites playful discovery and nurtures a respectful connection between the local community and native wildflower species. The artwork awakens awe and curiosity about its ecological importance, particularly as an outstanding pollinator.

Glowing internally lit stamens offer a warm, welcoming presence to locals and visitors, encouraging reflection on the shared environment we inhabit. DAYDREAM blurs the line between natural and built spaces, inviting empathy for the nonhuman life all around us.

Inspired by Gaston Bachelard’s The Poetics of Space, the work suggests that imagination and sensory experience combine to connect the world as it is, the world as it was, and the world as it could become. It’s a sculptural invitation to pause, wonder, and reimagine our relationship with the ecosystems we too often overlook.

DAYDREAM honours the Western Red Columbine, a local pollinator plant. Evoking layered histories and hidden futures, the artwork invites reflection on the intricate connections between species, time, and place.
